Douchebag vs. A**hole
So we have a mini crisis going on in one of our off-site divisions and I am meeting the management team for the first time and - well their SVP of Sales. I mean man WTF.
In addition to sticking his finger in my face, demanding I DO SOMETHING for him (to cover his ass and ensure he gets his Fucking bonus) he commits the cardinal sin of lack of politeness in my book, no please, no thank you, no...

when it is both thrilling and sad to work in the media/news business.

Sooo… did I mention that my date last week was great? No? Well it was. Did I mention that he told me he wanted to see me again? No? Well he did. Why does it seem
Like every person at the Columbus Circle Equinox has a great body? They the same equipment as the NY Sports Club. But the gorgeous/hardbody factor is much higher. Do their members not work?
Which reminds me...
Why did Pets.com fail? Why don’t web sites devoted to pets make any money? There are more than a DOZEN high end pet stores within six blocks of my apartment in three directions. So what gives?
These stores can’t just thrive on impulse buys.
Defining Your Brand Pyramid
Appropos of my previous post I started thinking a little bit about my OWN brand strategy. I think this is pretty critical for anyone, especially in this economic climate. But this blog isn’t about making money. It’s not my business.
It is tangentially about my business - media, technology, corporate culture, innovation and technology investments and loosely about me and what I see...
High School Reunions
My pook is going to his high school reunion this weekend.
He has a lot of mixed feelings about it. Visiting the school web site I can understand why. Yech!
There’s a reason, I’ve never gone to mine. Beyond the fact that there isn’t a single person I can relate to, almost everyone still lives within 25 miles of the school -many never finished college, got pregnant and married...
This does not a lunch make
I just got on the elevator with a woman (that’s right woman - not a girl - as in someone over the age of 30) who was apparently having 12 snow peas with a few wisps of red onion for lunch. That doesn’t even count as a snack in my book. When you consider that our cafeteria charges $.40 an ounce for food a la carte, what could this woman possibly have paid?
